Nina Felshin says “bring him back”

Hi All,

Since I did not receive a response to my email to you, Linda (sent via the website), I inquired further about Paul’s absence.  My dear friend Michael Smith shared the news.

I looked forward daily to the 6pm news with Paul.  Unlike DN, once the Bible of this atheist, Paul provided independent views about US imperialism in certain parts of the world, often in conjunction with, or in opposition to, official narratives. The way he segued from one point of view to another was, in my opinion, brilliant.   I always found myself wishing he had an hour-long program, and felt genuine disappointment on occasions when there was substitute programming. The news that he’s been fired, truly shocked me.

I hope you will bring him back. Is it really worth it to cancel one of your best programs?  (My other favorite is Law & Disorder).  In the meantime, I would like to suggest—and feel it is the responsible thing to do— that  you inform your listeners as to why he is no longer on the air.   If you have done that, I guess I missed it.

Thanks for the work you do on behalf of WBAI, especially given these extra challenging economic times.

Best,
Nina
