Long Time Activists Supports The WBAI News

Mr. Berthold Reimers
General Manager
Radio Station WBAI

Dear Mr. Reimers,
I was shocked to learn that long-time WBAI newsman Paul DeRienzo has been summarily dropped from the News Department of the station! As someone who has listened to WBAI since I was in college in the 1960s and 70s, I have relied on the fine reporting that people like Paul have done over the years—they have done this reporting often at physical risk to themselves (e.g., Paul’s reporting on the Tompkins Square police riot, for example.) I ask you to reinstate Paul DeRienzo to the News Department’s regular 6 pm news broadcast, so that he and his colleagues can continue to provide the news coverage that we New Yorkers need during these difficult times.

Respectfully yours,
Kurt T. Hill Brooklyn, NY
